Toddler Program (12+ Months)

Children in our North Phoenix Toddler Program are at least one year old, fully walking, and able to eat table food. With these new abilities, toddlers are ready for more stimulating and diverse activities.

Our North Phoenix Toddler Program introduces a challenging curriculum of hands-on learning activities that will advance your child’s social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. We at Scottsdale Child Care & Learning Centers also strive to instill in each child a feeling of autonomy and positive self-concept.

At our Phoenix daycare center, we realize that a lot of changes occur in your child’s second year. For this reason, we have two toddler classrooms, each very unique from the other.

Young Toddlers (12-18 Months)

Our younger toddlers, usually between 12 and 18 months, enjoy a toddler program that still caters to their individual schedules. This classroom schedule still provides for a morning and an afternoon nap, for toddlers that still drink from a bottle, and for those still taking pacifiers. At this age, children are working hard at doing things on their own, such as eating, playing, and talking!

These young walkers are encouraged to explore indoors and outdoors, with activities including singing with music, walking, rocking & riding toys, toddler manipulatives, games, puzzles, and story time. Our young toddlers still sleep in cribs, eat in highchairs, and are provided with breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day, as well as crib sheets, diapers, blankets and bibs.

Experienced Toddlers (18-24 Months)

Once our toddlers are down to taking one nap, usually between 18 and 24 months, they have much more time on their hands!  Beginning in our older toddler classroom, our school-wide thematic curriculum is introduced into the daily lesson plans. Learning Centers and Circle Time are also included into the classroom schedule to integrate age-appropriate learning development within the playtime.

At this age, our toddlers begin working together, helping each other learn many new skills! They delight in using their imaginations, as well as their energy, with lots of dancing, running, playing, and laughing with their friends. They learn to sit at the table to create art projects and eat their snacks and meals. They love to clap along and actively learn during circle times. Come tour to see for yourselves what our toddlers are up to today!

Families receive a daily log of their child’s feeding, sleeping, diapering and learning activities, which is meant to be supplementary to the daily face-to-face communication between our parents and teachers.
